Kitchen Refurbishment London — From Refresh to Full Refit
One named installer running the project, every trade under one roof, and a fixed price agreed before strip-out begins. ARI Maintenance refurbishes kitchens across London and the M25 — cosmetic refreshes, full refits, supplied-unit installs (Howdens, IKEA, Wickes), bespoke kitchens, and worktop replacements — with Kris on the kitchen team and the rest of our trades (plumbing, electrics, tiling, decorating) all in-house.

Kitchen Refurbishment — What It Is and Why the Single-Team Model Matters
Kitchen refurbishment is the multi-trade project of stripping out, redesigning, or upgrading an existing kitchen — ranging from a cosmetic refresh (new doors, worktops, handles, splashback) to a full strip-out and rebuild involving plumbing first-fix, Part P-compliant electrical work, plastering, unit and worktop installation, tiling, flooring, and decorating. The complexity is not the work itself; it is the sequencing — the worktop cannot template until the units are fitted, the tiler waits on the units, the second-fix plumbing waits on the worktops. When five separate contractors are running their own diaries, the schedule slips.
The ARI model puts every trade on one team led by Kris, our lead kitchen installer. One day-by-day schedule, one named contact, one fixed price. London homeowners use this model because it is the only way to keep a 1–3 week kitchen refurb running on time.
Kitchen Services We Cover
Six categories cover almost every kitchen call we attend.

Cosmetic Refresh
New doors, drawer fronts, handles, worktops, splashback, and paintwork on existing carcasses and layout. Most cosmetic refreshes complete in 3–5 days at a bespoke price–a bespoke price. The right call when the layout works and the carcasses are sound but the kitchen looks tired.

Full Kitchen Refit
Complete strip-out and rebuild. New units, worktops, appliances, plumbing, electrics, tiling, flooring, decorating — everything. Most domestic kitchens complete in 2–3 weeks with a day-by-day schedule given before work starts.

Kitchen Extension Fit-Out
The first-fix-to-finish work inside a new kitchen extension built by a separate builder. We come in once the shell is closed in and watertight, and handle every trade through to a finished kitchen. Common as the second phase of single-storey rear-extension projects.

Bespoke Kitchen Installation
Hand-built or designer kitchens supplied by specialist suppliers (deVOL, Plain English, Neptune, etc.). We install to the supplier’s specification, manage the trades, and deliver to manufacturer-warranty standard.

Supplied-Unit Installation
If you have already bought units from Howdens, IKEA, Wickes, B&Q, Wren, or any other supplier, we install them to manufacturer-warranty standard. You source the kitchen, we fit it. Includes plumbing, electrics, tiling, and finishing as needed.

Worktop & Door Replacement
Worktop swap (laminate, solid wood, quartz, granite) and/or new doors and drawer fronts on existing units. Quick-turnaround projects typically completed in 2–4 days at a bespoke price–a bespoke price depending on materials.
What You Actually Get With an ARI Kitchen Refurb
Four outcomes that separate us from the average kitchen-fitter search result.
Kris on Every Project
Kris leads every kitchen we install — the same named installer running the day-by-day schedule, coordinating the other trades, and signing off the finished room. You deal with one person from quote to handover, not a different stranger every visit.
Single Team, Every Trade
Plumber, electrician, tiler, fitter, decorator — all on our team. The worktop arrives the day the units finish; the tiler starts the day the worktop is templated; the electrician closes the walls the day the tiler completes. No 'the other contractor has not finished' delays.
Day-by-Day Schedule You Can Plan Around
Before strip-out begins you get a written, day-by-day schedule covering every trade and milestone. So you know exactly which days the kitchen is unusable, when to book the temporary arrangement, and when each appliance will be useable.
Fixed Price Before Strip-Out
Free site visit, then a fixed-price written quote covering labour, materials, disposal, and VAT. The number you accept is the number you pay. No mid-project surprises.
How an ARI Kitchen Refurb Works — Five Steps
The same five-step process every kitchen project follows, from a worktop swap to a full bespoke installation.
Free site visit
Kris (or another senior team member) visits, takes measurements, looks at access, plumbing routes, electrical capacity, and any structural considerations. We discuss what you want and what is feasible. No charge, no obligation.
Fixed-price quote with spec choices
Within 48 hours of the visit you get an itemised written quote covering labour, materials, disposal, and VAT. We can quote the same scope at three price points (budget / mid-range / high-end) so you can see the trade-offs.
Day-by-day schedule confirmed
Once you accept the quote, we set a start date and write you a day-by-day schedule covering every trade. You know exactly when strip-out happens, when the kitchen is unusable, and when each fixture is fitted.
Strip-out and first fix
Days 1–5 typically: strip-out, plumbing first-fix, electrical first-fix, plastering and prep. Daily clean-down so the rest of the property stays liveable.
Units, worktops, finishing, sign-off
Days 6–15 typically: unit installation, worktop templating and fitting, second-fix plumbing, second-fix electrics, splashback and floor tiling, flooring, painting, and snagging. We walk you through the finished kitchen and issue the 12-month workmanship guarantee in writing.
Why London Homeowners Use ARI for Kitchen Refurbishment
According to the Federation of Master Builders Home Owners Survey, the most common complaints about home-improvement projects are not about quality of work — they are about projects running over time, over budget, and the homeowner having to manage trades who do not communicate with each other. The single-team model directly addresses each of those failure modes: one schedule, one quote, one accountable point of contact.
Our kitchen fitters, plumbers, electricians, tilers, and decorators all work as one in-house team. Rated 5.0 stars across 27 Google reviews and 9.94/10 across 32 Checkatrade reviews, with 12-month workmanship guarantees in writing on every kitchen project and full Part P-compliant electrical work where applicable.

Read our full team story“The single biggest variable on a kitchen refurb is the worktop. The supplier templates after the units are in, then there is a 5–10 working-day lead time before they are back to fit. Half the kitchen industry runs the rest of the project in that gap and ends up redoing the splashback. We sequence around it from day one so the gap does not become a problem.”
